Your Diploma in Naturapathy and Yogic Sciences (DNYS) course is invalid

Dear All the DNYS passouts, aspirants and students,
(Reference is to India)
Your Diploma in Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (DNYS) course is invalid. DNYS course is not approved by the Central Council of Indian Medicines (Govt of India) till this date. So your DNYS Diploma is also invalid.
If you have a Diploma from a UGC recognised University, then your Diploma is a valid academic qualification but not a valid medical qualification. (It may be useful as paramedical). Same is the case with BSc (Naturopathy and Yogic Science). Only BNYS degree (regular) approved by Central Council of Indian Medicines (Now the rights may be with Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy) is approved and only they can use the prefix 'Dr" before their name.

The same can be said of BSc (Naturopathy and Yoga) and B.Nat. Only full time 5 years BNYS degree is valid as a medical degree. All others and distance courses are not valid medical degrees but are only valid academic degrees.

Central Council for Research in Yoga & Naturopathy
                                                                          NOTICE
This Council is receiving a number of questions, complaints and RTI applications from students and parents that they are being cheated by some of the organizations offering courses claiming to be Recognized Diploma Courses in Naturopathy of 1 year to 3½ years duration namely – N.D., D.N.Y.S., D.N.Y.T., H.D.N.Y., N.D.D.Y., D.A.MS., B.N.M.S. etc. This is to inform to all concerned that about 300 such parties/ so-called organizations are claiming that they are running/conducting recognized Diploma Courses in Naturopathy. Some of them are even using the word “Recognized/Approved/Authenticated/Granted/Authorized/Affiliated etc. by CCRYN, Govt. of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare”. It is clarified to all students and parents that there is no such Recognized Diploma Courses in Naturopathy and Yoga being run anywhere in India. The students and the public are advised not to get misguided by such type of false advertisements/claims.
There is only one Recognized ‘Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences’ (BNYS) Degree course of full time/regular 5½ years (4 ½ years + 1 Year Internship) duration which is being run by 12 Colleges duly Affiliated to the respective Universities and Recognized by their respective State Governments. The list of these colleges is already uploaded in CCRYN Website (www.ccryn.org).
All Medical Courses of Naturopathy & Yoga Therapy are of minimum 5 years of Regular Full time course attached with a major hospital of 100 Beds strength. The hospital should be duly affiliated to the reputed Universities and Recognized by their respective State Governments. Courses less than 5 or 5 ½ years shall not be considered as medical courses in Naturopathy and Yoga and they can’t prefix word ‘Doctor’.
Naturopathy is a practical and perfect medical science. It cannot be learnt through part time or postal or external courses. Those who are interested in Naturopathy and Yoga should join full-time BNYS Degree Course as like MBBS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, BSMS, BPT, BDS. After passing out from recognised institutions and colleges, the Degree of BNYS is awarded by the Concerned University. Such qualified Naturopaths do receive Class ‘A’ Medical Registration in Naturopathy & Yoga by their respective State Govt.’s Board of Medical Registration.
It has also been brought to the notice of Council that some organizations are issuing registration certificates to practitioners of Yoga & Naturopathy saying that such certificates will enable them practice these disciplines. It is clarified that such registration certificates issued by private organizations are of no legal value for practicing these sciences. In States like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, M.P. and Chhattisgarh, the Governments have recognized Degree Colleges of BNYS and qualified practitioners are issued Registration Certificates by respective Boards of Indian System of Medicine constituted under Acts of respective States. In some states, provisions for registration are yet to come up. Public is hereby advised that they should not be mislead by advertisements issued by private organization in regard to registration and practice.
It is also observed that some institutions claiming to be affiliated institutions of Certain Deemed Universities are issuing advertisements for Yoga & Naturopathy Degree/Diploma Courses/Master Degree.
It is clarified that except 12 Colleges, rest of the Courses conducted by such institutions, Deemed Universities and Regular Universities cannot be treated as recognized professional courses in the Medical Systems of Naturopathy & Yoga Therapy as Doctor Course.
