Diploma Course in Guidance and Counselling – 2021

NCERT announces a one-year Diploma course for training of professionals in guidance 
and counselling, combining distance and face-to-face modes. The course aims at 
enhancing the skills and competencies of teachers to promote holistic development of 
pupils and handle their academic, socio-emotional, and ethical problems. The course is 
open to teachers, teacher educators, school administrators and untrained guidance 
personnel from India. The course will be transacted in three phases, i.e. distance 
(six months; January – June, 2021), face-to-face contact programme at respective study 
centres (three months; July – September, 2021), and internship in home town 
(three months; October – December, 2021). Admission to eligible candidates will be 
offered at DEPFE, NCERT, New Delhi and Regional Institutes of Education at Ajmer, 
Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru and Shillong. Maximum no. of seats at each centre will be 
50. Government deputed candidates will be preferred. Advance copy will be considered 
for screening of applications. NCERT's decision will be final in matters of admission. For

Rajasthan REET 2020

REET stands for Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers and is a recruitment test for Primary and Elementary teachers (Grade III) in government schools of Rajasthan. It is also the recognised Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) under the RTE Act, 2009 and a minimum qualification for the appointment for the post of Primary Teacher and Trained Graduate Teacher (Grade III) and Grade II. 

TET of the central government i.e. CTET certificate and of the other states are valid for lifetime. 

Government of Rajasthan will soon announce the REET 2020 for recruiting about 31000 teachers. 

Eligibility to sit the Test:

Level I (to teach Classes 1 to 5): (1) DElEd or equivalent

                                              OR (2) BEd or equivalent with PDPET (Bridge Course)

                                              OR (3) BElEd 

Level II (to teach Classes 6 to 8): (1) Graduation with DElEd or equivalent

                                                OR (2) BEd or equivalent 

                                                OR (3) BElEd

(A detailed and authorised list is declared by the NCTE, New Delhi.)

 

Fees: Rs 500 for any one Level 

         Rs 750 for both the Level.  

Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, Ajmer holds the REET Exam.

CTET and State TET under RTE Act to have lifetime validity

The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has taken an important decision in the 50th General Assembly meeting held on 29 September. 
The Council considered the agenda item and approved the validity of Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET and State TET) certificate changing it from 7 years to the Life time. This provision would have prospective effect and for those have already passed out (already having TET certificate), NCTE would take legal opinion and will act accordingly.

Dictionaries for Higher Secondary and College Graduate - Post Graduate Students

Having a good quality dictionary of English is very much necessary and beneficial to learn English and other subjects right from Primary Classes to Higher Secondary Classes and beyond. 

Students shall need specialised dictionary for their subjects when they go to higher classes. There are dictionaries available for each separate subject. 

Though dictionaries of several publishers are available in the market, it is advisable to buy one that is published by Oxford University Press or Cambridge University Press or from some reputed publisher like Orient Blackswan, Macmillan, Cobuild etc.

Apply for Hindi Courses (Certificate, Diploma etc) from Government of India

The Department of Correspondence Courses, within Central Hindi Directorate was set up in 1968 with an aim to impart knowledge of Hindi through correspondence to the people of non-Hindi speaking Indian states, Indians settled abroad and foreign nationals desirous of learning Hindi.  

                     Eligibility For Admission:

Certificate Course in Hindi:

(i) Indians and foreigners residing in India whose mother tongue is not Hindi and who are above 10 years of age.

(ii) Children of Non-resident Indians (irrespective of their mother tongue) who are above 10 years of age.

Diploma Course in Hindi:
Besides the eligibility condition as mentioned above, the candidate should have passed the Certificate Course in Hindi of Central Hindi Directorate or the Praveen Course of the Ministry of Home Affairs or should possess requisite language skills.
 
Advance Diploma in Hindi:

(i) This Course is meant for Indians and Foreigners residing in India and abroad, whose mother tongue is not Hindi and who are above 15 years of age.

(ii) The candidate should have passed the Diploma Course in Hindi of Central Hindi Directorate or the High School examination with Hindi as a subject.

Prabodh, Praveen , Pragya Courses in Hindi:
These courses are only for the employees of Central Government, Public Undertakings, and Autonomous Bodies etc. For these courses, Central Hindi Directorate functions only as a teaching agency. Examinations for these courses are conducted by Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs.
 
Civil Services Courses in Hindi:

(i) This course is meant for graduate candidates or for those who are studying in the final year of a degree course, who are from the North-Eastern States of India, whose mother tongue is not included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India, and who intend to opt for Hindi in the compulsory Indian Language paper in the Civil Services Examination.

(ii) Candidate must belong to one of the following states- Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim.

These are government courses and so the Fees are affordable / low.

IGNOU launches ‘PG Diploma in Animal Welfare (PGDAW)’ in Open and Distance Learning

Animal welfare education is a multidisciplinary subject which is evolving rapidly with the core components of welfare science, ethics, laws and standards. In general, we are concerned about the welfare of all animals that are managed in some way by humans, and where we have particular responsibilities for their care. In the past, the greatest concern about animal welfare has been related to livestock production in agriculture, and thus ‘farm animal welfare’ has received the most attention. Over time, welfare issues pertaining to working, performing, companion, zoo and lab animals have also received attention. Keeping all this in view, the PGDAW programme has covered welfare science, ethics, laws and standards of all managed animals like cattle and buffaloes; sheep and goat; pigs; poultry; working, performing, pet, zoo and lab animals.

IGNOU's School of Extension and Development Studies (SOEDS) has launched ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Animal Welfare’ (Code: PGDAW) from July 2020 session . The PGDAW programme is meant for animal welfare professionals across India and for graduates / post-graduates interested in pursuing a career as an animal welfare professional, informed, Programme Coordinator, Prof. P. V. K. Sasidhar. 

 

This one year program can be pursued by any graduate having degree in any discipline.
